Tempered (or called toughened glass) is a type of safety glass that processed by thermal treatments or chemical treatments to increase its mechanical strength and the resistance to temperature difference. Compared with normal glass (annealed glass), SSG produces tempered glass with continues tempering furnace and the fully tempered glass has 4-5 times higher mechanical strength and resistances to 200℃ temperature difference. Tempered glass, when broken, crumbles into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as normal glass does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. Tempered glass is widely used in a variety of demanding applications, such as windows/doors, furniture, tabletop, electrical appliances, vehicle windows/doors, shower doors, etc.
